n8n is an automation tool in which a workflow is built from nodes: a trigger, such as a new email, a submitted form or a time of day, and the steps that follow. It has ready-made integrations for hundreds of apps, AI nodes and nodes where you can write code. It can be self-hosted for free or used in the cloud.

What is n8n?

An automation tool in which workflows are built visually from nodes: a trigger and the steps that follow. It has integrations for hundreds of apps, AI nodes and code nodes.

Is n8n free?

The Community edition, self-hosted on your own server, is free for internal business use; you only pay for the server. n8n Cloud starts at €20 a month on annual billing.

n8n or Make?

Make is simpler for short workflows. n8n suits long workflows with AI and high volume better, because you pay per run of the whole workflow, not per step. The full comparison is in n8n vs Make vs Zapier.

Where is the data stored?

Self-hosted, n8n keeps the data wherever you install it. n8n Cloud stores data in the EU, in Frankfurt.

Can we edit the workflows ourselves?

Yes. n8n workflows are shown as a diagram, and at handover we show you how they're built. For bigger changes you can write to us at any time.

What happens if a workflow stops?

Steps that can fail are retried automatically, and if they still fail, you get an alert with the error. n8n keeps a history of every run, so you can see where it stopped.

How much does an n8n automation cost?

The price is set for each project after the first conversation. The build depends on how many steps the workflow has and how many tools it connects.
